The only thing special about the Taylor format is the documentation.

You can attach directly to the controller with a different programming software package and view and edit the ladder logic. You will not have any documentation of course. I assume that you probably have a print out of the program that is reasonably current. Do you have a digital copy of the program in Taylor format?

If you are trying to do this modification for the least amount of money I would try and find someone that has a copy of Modsoft. It wasn't copy protected and there are a lot of copies floating around in the industrial world. It isn't pretty but it will get the job done for you. A better option might be to check with some local integrators or control shops.

Someone is bound to have some experience with Modicon and the software necessary to do the job. If you have never worked on a Modicon PLC before I would recommend this solution. Well if you don't buy a programming software, what are you going to convert TO from Taylor? You did say you need to modify the program, and that will require a software package. Your absolute best bet at this time is to spend the money on Proworx32. Modicon used to have a free converter from Taylor available on their website, perhaps tech support can offer you that. Or perhaps Proworx32 supports converting Taylor directly. It does open more file types that Proworx NXT did.
